I am blown away by the reaction of ESPN, USC, and the media in general at their response to LSU's National Championship.
Here is how I see it; maybe someone can help me:
1) The BCS IS THE NCAA Championship; Not the AP poll or the CNN/USA Today Poll. You are agreeing to the BCS when you lace 'em up. right?
3) If you have a problem with the BCS, then you should make it known BEFORE the season starts, not after the the season ends and you don't like the results.
4) I hope USC wins the BCS this year and another school lays claim to their championship, dishonoring their achievement the way they did LSU's.
5) This pisses me of.

The fact is... USC is in California and LSU is Louisiana... Louisiana is full of drunk cajun wackos and it's not cool to just let a southern team be a national champion.

I am very happy that we won the national championship. However I remember how all the LSU fans were pissed off at the BCS, up until the point where we actually saw we could have a shot at the Dome. I was one of them.
But now I don't care about what I said in the past, because we won the championship. neener neener neener to USC.
Whoever said that football fans have to live by logic?

Those of us who did the math ahead of time knew that the BCS was on LSU's side. And of course those of us who did not do the math ahead of time called those of us who did the math ahead of time "crazy." I was very very "crazy."

Well, it happens that logic is on LSU's side, too, so living by logic makes LSU's case even stronger.
LSU 13-1
USC 12-1
LSU's opponents 86-79
USC's opponents 81-79
LSU's opponents' opponents 1128-882
USC's opponents' opponents 1072-891
LSU scoring ratio 3.08/1
USC scoring ratio 2.23/1
The facts are these:- LSU had a better record.
- LSU's opponents had a better record.
- LSU's opponents' opponents had a better record.
- LSU outscored their opponents by a more impressive margin/ratio.
There's no controversy in this house, and there's no need to get anything off your chest. Although this year the BCS takes a bit of a step back in terms of a real national champion, we are moving toward the idea that democracy does not decide a champion. When we have grandkids, LSU will be remembered as the champion, not USC.

If you wanted to complain about the BCS, you should have done it before the season started.
Just like Al Gore, should have bitched before the election...... not afterwards that he had "hanging chads"

I bet he was sorry he invented the Electoral College.
LSU was ranked rather low in the BCS until late in the season. The SOS score hurt. LSU was still hurt at the end, but they were still #1. California should just break off and fall in the Pacific Ocean. Who's with me?

I agree California should fall into the ocean. LSU will be and IS recorded as the National Champions in the books. So down with the Trojans and Power to the Pussy Cats! hehe

I was pretty damn impressed by the stats Adam pulled from his ass. That was good stuff. You have no argument from me who the National Champions were last year. I must say that USC's offense did scare me a little bit, but the way our defense was running on all cylinders at the end of last year, I think it would've been handled business for Saban's boys. Too bad we didn't get too see that Gateway deal go through for LSU to play USC even though we knew it couldn't happen. 10 million for each school, donated computers, and the extra publicity could have gone a long way. God knows we could use some new computers in the Library and other places.

Would have been a great game, but it would have ruined college football. Every player likely would have demanded to be paid for the game (I would if I was a player and had just met my requirements for my scholarship), and a lawyers would jump in to argue eligibility issues and things.
Plus, when you're the champion, you don't owe #2 another game.
