A few questions I do not know answer.
1. what are quality points (for exp. 12) next to your grade?
2. why bookstore announces 50% return for your books, it is not true?!
I tried to sell 10 boring books that I do not need anymore. 8 of them could not be returned, and for other 2 they offered me $1.5 and $3. So I kept all...

quality points are the number of hours times your grade in the class.
Book stores are a big scam.

As far as the book question...my roomate used to work at Chimes and I know they usually buy the book back for half of what it will sell for the NEXT semester, not necessarily half of what you paid for it. That's if the book will be reused the next semester, if not...then yeah, they won't take it back. There are websites specifically for textbook buyback though...that might be a good alternative especially if you have major books that you paid a lot for that aren't being used again. And most of the sites claim to pay shipping as well so you aren't having to pay anything to send your books back. I've never used them though so I can't say how well it works. I just had to do a speech on it.
