Around the World in 5 hours
The UPC International Committee is sponsoring the 34th International Expo: Expand Your Horizons on Sunday, November 7 from noon till 5 p.m. in the PMAC.
The expo is a great way for travel limited students to gain some cultural awareness through representatives from countries all across the world. Each representative will share their native culture, food, fashion, music and much more.
Participants in this year’s event include Africa, Armenia, India, People’s Republic of China, Vietnam, USA (Rotaract), Iran, Pakistan, Taiwan, Romania, Colombia, Louisiana (Baptist Campus Ministries) Amnesty International, Brazil, Malaysia, International Student Association, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Judo Student Organization, Nepal, Turkey, Italy, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Cyrpus, Greece, Mauritius, Japan, the Women’s Center, Tanzania and North Cyprus. There will be stage performances at 1 and 3 p.m. that will feature festive and ceremonial dances, instrumental and vocal music and martial arts.
A fashion show at 2 p.m. will highlight a variety of clothing from across the world. There will also be demonstrations of the Chinese games taiji and kick jianzi, judo, karate and Sicilian dance lessons. Admission is free and door prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
