Has anyone checked out DeanO's Pizza / Dean-O's Pizza yet?

It's where the ill-fated TK Pizza was if anyone remembers that and Calendar's before that... Outside the south gates.

I haven't but I am willing to give it a try since it does involve pizza. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur of sorts.

I've been to Deano's 2 times now.. and each time they've burned the pizza.

Has this happened to anyone else?

When I asked the Manager about it she told me it was because of their brick ovens and they have to make sure it's "cooked all the way to the middle".

I was a bit disappointed in the manager.

Didn't offer a discount or anything.

I guess I should have told the manager how to deal with annoyed customers. I kept telling her that "I thought you should know." To give her the opportunity to try to make it up to us. No dice. Was charged full price.

Our waitress was more concerned about the burning of the pizza than the manager was and indicated that they burn the pizzas that the employees order also... maybe that's part of the Cajun aspect of the place...

I think the waitress should be a manager.

If the pizza wasn't burned it would be very good. They give you a LOT of toppings. The service was fairly attentive.

Doesn't sound like a very competent manager.. I don't know about how brick ovens work but i'm sure you can lower the temperature in the thing.. and at least at the "fast food style" pizza places (domino's / papa john's) when your crust comes out burnt and the inside is undercooked, you lower the temperature.. duh.

I'm faxing this thread over to Deano's sometime today.

Does anyone else have any comments (positive or negative) to share with them?

AWE, the civil services you provide to BR have you well on your way to getting that elusive Nobel Peace Prize. You've got my vote, pal.

You should have told them that you know Alex Evans....that always seems to work at Pluckers

I've been to Deano's twice and I've never had a bad experience. Their mushrooms are really good. No burnt pizzas here.

Someone from Pluckers probably sent word about Alex complaining so they burn his pizzas on purpose for their own entertainment.

Thanks for keeping it on Topic Smile

And more importantly, why weren't we invited?
