Post subject: Cane's Sauce |
  |
|
I decided to compact the thread about the "secret sauce" from Raising Cane's and put it here.
Cane's Sauce Ingredients
1 part ketchup
1 part mayonnaise
dash of worchestershire sauce
dash of garlic powder
dash of pepper
1. Add mayonnaise and ketchup to bowl (or whatever you're mixing in). If you're cheap like me, bum some mayo and ketchup packets from somewhere like Arby's, Jack in the Box, etc.
2. Add a dash of worchestershire. You want enough to thin out the mixture a little, but not enough to affect the taste.
3. Add garlic powder and pepper to taste.
4. STIR until the mixture is pinkish.
5. Serve with chicken, beef, pen...wait, strike the last one. It's best for dipping, though.

This is odd..... I made some last night with the same thing but you have to portion everything out.... plus you'll need to add a dash of tonys, salt, and pepper and thin it out with a blender or a miniblender.... it's yum yum yum!!
Thanks and just curious, who did you get this rep from?

I tried to make a batch last night using the recipe provided but something seems missing. Does it matter what brand mayo you use? I used Blue Plate.

why not just buy some cane's. the shit won't taste the same without the fingers. The secret is the fingers, they're not frozen for crying out loud.

Really, the recipe is not entirely correct there. Good thing it's not though because Todd will send his crew seeking legal restitution. So if anyone is wondering why it taste's a little off, it's because it is. But it's always fun trying to get close. Who knows, they might actualy put crack in it...haha

Add horseradish and louisiana hot sauce to the above recipe and you have something close, if not better, than the sauce served at Cane's and many other chicken restaurants in the south. That's what gives it the KICK!
