One friend called me and asked for the grade in the class that we listened together. When I told him, and I was better than he was, he did not want to talk to me at all. And, what is sad, he is almost 40, Phd., and has a family.
Why are people jealous on other's success (if u got worse grade than, u are their "friend")?

You know, back in the day there was this man who worked hard at what he did. He pursued his dreams with the furver of someone who was madly in love. Some scoffed, others scorned, and still others laughed... all were jealous, or to put it another way, intimidated.
Later in life, before that man hit a wall, he was the best damn Nascar driver ever. EVER. Fuck you Jeff Gordon, FUCK YOU. The bottom line is simple;
Success breeds envy... and it's always important to follow curves instead of trying to continue in a straight line.

No, I care for some people, and at the end, they show their "real face". That is what I cannot understand Norris....World is sometimes cruel.

You're right. It is sad that those people turned their backs on you because you happened to get a ticket out of Croatia. I think any success you have is great, and don't let cry-babies hold you back.

I do not find the local bus system all that bad--you can get to most of the places that you need to get to in the city with it, including LSU, downtown, the shopping malls, etc. (it's more on-time than LSU's bus service, anyway).
The U.S. is laid out much differently than Europe (the average U.S. household has three vehicles, and everyone drives everywhere themselves). Hence, everything is much more spread out here--you certainly could never guess that the Baton Rouge area has 750,000 people just by looking at the downtown region...

The guys must have thought that you were very hott and did not want you to leave their country so they could have you to themselves. The gals probably were glad that you were leaving because they could not compete with someone as hott as you.

I have only had positive experience taking the bus in Baton Rouge. The normal buses are on time, and the drivers I have had have been friendly. I have not taken the campus bus, but I see many other people do it.
I have used public transportation extensively in St. Louis, Chicago, Denver and (less) Boston. Baton Rouge is pretty sorry compared to a city that has a rail system and busses. If you want to use the bus in Baton Rouge it may take you 2-3 hours to get some place if you have a layover.
