After a little conversation with SeaMonkey and EvilSock, I've decided to write a post on some bullshit that eats away my fuckin interior.
Back in my high school, there was a "Jesus Wave" and all of the "cool kids" started going to Church. All of a sudden, you have your old drinking circles going to the local Baptist youth group. The same douchebag jock alcoholics that you would see making fun of people and being overall cocksuckers began going to Church. I noticed, after a few weeks, that they began bringing their Bibles to school and they would carry them around with them everywhere like it was their "Cool Kid Trophy". They would make big ordeals when one of their friends got converted and they would blubber about their newly forged bond "through Christ".
So at a lunch table, when normal people are having standard, crude humor discussion... the Jesus people would get terribly offended because of their pseudo devotion to their Faith. Normally they would react and say "You need Jesus" as if you had AIDS lesions on your face and Jesus was the antidote. Sometimes they would quote scripture or even read it to you at the table in hopes to make you feel guilty. The pinnacle of this terror was when I witnessed, with my own bleeding eyes, three Jesus-Bots walk up to this semi-goth guy and they began talking to him. They started the conversation with "Been gettin in the Word lately brotha?", knowing that the guy was agnostic and didn't read the Bible. So the guy responds, "what are you talkin about?" and they chuckled, nudged elbows and spat out "that dude Jesus man". The thing was, they thought they were witnessing for Christ, but in all reality, they were picking on him just like they always did, except this time they used Jesus as a medium.
I once ventured into the "Youth Group" lair and discovered the utter bullshit of it all. I first walked in and they had pool tables, a small basketball court, foosball tables (spelling?), and a full band. The people were dressed up in their trendiest clothes... I saw more cleavage there than in school. Anyway, I was shot death stares by a few of the coolest Jesus Leaders, mainly because I had raped them in an arguement during school concerning some of their religious tactics. The place was like a big clique. Groups of people all socializing and swimming in small talk. I thought that the service would begin soon, but I was wrong, they would continue to socialize, gossip, and cackle for over an hour. Eventually everyone was seated and some overly energetic circus clown got on stage and began to "pump up" the crowd. Nausia set in as I realized this was their youth pastor. A 32 year old, single man who tried to act 17. Eventually, the band started playing some sort of Jesus Rock and everyone was getting into it, clapping their hands and singing along. When the music stopped, they put up some really stupid play that over simplified an already simple message that Jesus preached. All they had to do was fucking read it out of the Bible and nod. After the preaching was over, they had an "alter call" where people would become converted. People got emotional. I got sick.
This was a spawning ground for more of the narrow minded Bible thumpers. What's worse, none of them really read their Bible, much less understood wtf it was talking about. Context meant nothing and they disregarded the history behind the situations. Yet they continued to spit it in our faces like they were completing their duty as a "Christian".
These people raped what others died for. Even if you do not believe in God and don't practice Religion, you still respect a martyr's devotion. Imagine the Hippies that spit on the soldiers coming home from Vietnam... I place these Youth Groups on the same level but different environment.
All this is my lengthy way of saying Fuck Trendy Youth Groups and the people that blindly support them.
And for the record, after about 1 1/2 semesters, the "Cool Jesus Kids" went back to their old ways.

You must consider that all these mindless idiots care about is carrying on a trend or stating something to be cool because you know what? They have nothing else to hold on to. They know deep within their rotting heart that they are the losers and not the people they insult and kick around in high school. When I was in highschool I was an athlete and I was in a band and all this and that but I never gave myself to the goth group or the ultra fab group. I ate lunch with maybe two friends, spent alot of time in the library after I ate. I played sports and held practice with my band. I did my own thing and thats what these numb skulls in highschool need to realize. You have to be your own person not lead a shit load of mindless fools or follow a fucking retard that has discovered a new trend. They do what they do to feel special because they know they aren't. When these people leave high school they lead empty and unproductive lives....please notice all the freshmen that fail out when they come to LSU, its because they just want to party or screw off. People need to wake up and realize that college is going to be a huge factor in determining the rest of your life. You slacked in highschool and were strung along with the cool people that really weren't all that cool at all just so you could think you were special for being able to hang out with them. In my mind a person is "cool" if they just do what makes them happy without some poisoning influence telling them they are worthless slobs if they don't follow the latest great thing. Highschool is a breeding ground of idiocy and it is really sad. Guess what, all that shit diminishes in college, unless you are in a sorority or fraternity which mostly house morons and people who were stripped of their own personality long ago and have to hide behind a group because they can find no other venue to exist. The future of america....god help us all.

Find your own happiness and just walk away from people like that. Don't let them continue to eat away at you like that.
But remember that elitism is not exclusive to youth groups, and there are many good people in them.

AT my high school the same happened except they did not stop their "sinning ways" and instead of a baptist group they were catholic. So sunday was the teen mass that all the "cool" people would go to right? Well intrestingly enough the saturday night i saw them out drinking and going have sex with their semi boyfriends or whatever. This made me utterly sick and I could not stand to see a bunch of hypocrites in church...so i stopped going
