Itīs bullshit that someone has to get rid of a different approach to something to avoid offending someone. What would fundamentally religious people be doing watching a film based on evolution in the first place? If you donīt agree with it then donīt watch it. This reminds me of the controversy over Mel Gibsonīs "The Passion" film and the Jews shitting in their pants. Just wait until "The Passion 2: Judgement Day" comes out...

IMAX chooses what they want to run. End of story. Thats like gettting pissed at McDonalds because they don't serve Whoppers.

Your missing the point.
IMAX (as a whole) does not choose what it wants to run.
The individual theaters get to choose.
The author points out that is theaters in the south is going to restrain the creative approach. This is much like how walmart discourages language in its media offerings, and the music industry as whole ends up promoting more pop.
The end of the story is:
"References to evolution will be dropped."
