OK, someone got me going on food in another thread, so I decided to copy it into the proper forum...
I haven't had it in YEARS, but the roast beef poboy at the Chimes used to be my favorite in town. I think it was advertised as requiring like a dozen napkins or something.
Opposite end of the spectrum, Sullivan's is outstanding & so is Dajonels (my favorite was their appetizer with oysters prepared 3 different ways). J. Alexander's - outside Mall of LA on Bluebonnet - also has great steaks & you can go in anything from shorts to formalwear. Change of pace - La Carreta on Government has wonderful, authentic Mexican with live music on Thursday evenings & killer margaritas all the time. Ichiban on Essen has the best sushi in town - gotta try the boat!
So what are your fave spots to feast?

George's - It's Under a bridge
They serve some of the greatest poboys i have ever had, I think you go down college and when u see that walmart turn either left, if your coming from LSU or right if your coming the other way. And just go all the way down till you go under that bridge and its to the right, just after the bridge.

ok, mackey, since you're new, let me clarify for our fair friends of TigerU...
your directions are close to adequate for George's Restaurant on Perkins Road, under the overpass, which does have great burgers, etc.
they also have locations on highland and george o'neal
however, there is a George's Bar downtown, under the I-10 bridge, which serves up something entirely different

Cane's is wonderful... try any of the many locations around BR!
I also like Chimes's freakin-huge fish filet. But I'm always open to try new restaurants that serve fried fish. Any suggestions on good fish places?

Hold on just a second. For wings, always choose Hooters. Fuck any other place that claims to have the best wings. That is all.

Roul's is the man at the Double MegaBurger, however, I am more likely to eat his Philly Cheesesteank poboy, Grilled Shimp PoBoy, or the Gyro. Roul's is my favorite place to eat Poboy's. If you want the bet chili Cheesr Fries, go to Louies. The down side is that alost 90% of the time is slow, bad service.

La Carreta has excellent Mexican food also. It is right down the street from superior. I had the El Relleno last night and it was awesome, and it's less than $10. http://www.carretarestaurant.com/

Rotolo's, de'angelos have great pizza.
Mello Mushroom is good to but kind of high for a pizza place.

They don't compare to east coast pizza.
