Wondering if anyone can help me.
First of all, let me admit the fact that I am a dumbass for being so trusting of a person....
But I have/had a friend online, who needed financial support...and I sent them about $400 via Western Union. It's someone I've never met, and yes, I realize i'm a retard. I made sure I saved the yahoo conversations, and the Emails from Western Union that says the money was sent.
The person pretty much vanished. I talk to her from time to time, and she says she will send me the money back, and never has.
Do I have any legal right to get my money back?

ok, so spend a few hundred on a lawyer, then get a judgement against XXXSxyRvrGrrrl69XXX and she still won't pay then you are out 600-700 bucks total.

dude, absent any signed loan document wherein she promises to repay within a certain timeframe, i'd say you're screwed, but if you insist on legal counsel, maybe check with jim holt or someone who offers a free initial consultation, and bring whatever documentation you have

If you can prove that it was a loan and not a gift (i.e. prove that she said she would pay you back), then you can probably win. Chat rooms are anonymous so I don't know if those transcripts will help you (unless she admits that was actually her chatting with you).
Even if you get a judgement against her, that doesn't mean she'll pay. You'll have to keep going back to court to try to get them to enforce it.

next time you chat with her tell her you are no longer worried about and try to find out where she lives. just find out where she lives and well you can take it from there.
on a side note i have to agree with sunny's first reply to this thread. sorry dude it's sad but true. btw you've met me and i could really use some cash right now.

see, i realize that sunny was right, i talked bad about myself enough in the first post...that i didn't need him to come along and add more. I was actually looking for suggestions, as to what I could do to resolve it.

if you read both of my replies, it gives you your two options:
1)accept that you got beat
2)spend money on a laywer, she won't pay anyway, eventually accept that you got beat twice.
