Starting with the closure of the 2004 football season, the NCAA football coaching carousel was jolted into full spin with the termination of many head coaching contracts while others were rewarded better and high paying positions at new universities.

This year there will be a whopping 22 new skippers found on college campuses across the nation, a 19 percent increase from last years starting line ups. These coaches will soon conduct their first season at their new position with many already experiencing heavy pressure from fans, alumni and the media. So here is the second edition of a two-piece reminder of all the stops last years carousel made and the situation (some good some bad), which they stepped into.

12. Notre Dame

In a move that earned the university a lot of criticism, the Fighting Irish broke ties with former head coach Ty Willingham and brought in four-time Super Bowl Champion Charlie Weis from the New England Patriots. The pressure will be on Weis who has no head coaching experience on his resume, but a slew of talent and a top notch coaching staff with Bill Lewis at defensive coordinator coming from the Miami Dolphins, Mike Haywood who coached Cedric Benson last year at Texas and David Cutcliffe from Ole Miss who recently stepped down due to health problems. The bad news for Weis is that it might take a few seasons to get back to a major bowl game, the goods is he has a great quarterback in Brady Quinn to start with.
