because people think their stinky opinions are fact, instead of what they are. opinions.
my opinions are not facts. but if i state a fact, it's not something that can be argued (like opinions are).
some people just can't accept the truth, and sometimes that truth tells them something they don't want to hear/accept. so it becomes a childish name calling game because egos get hurted. *sniff.
