Who would be up for this?
Ideas i've had:
Game: either a fighting or a sports game.. if it's a sports game, possibly 2 2-person teams
Prize: Either a TigerU t-shirt.. Or, each team chips in $10, the winning team gets a part of the pot (the other part going to fund TigerU's operating costs)

Not Halo or Halo 2. They're too overplayed. I opt for Counter-Strike (computer or x-box based).

well i agree that Halo and Halo 2 are overplayed but I like Halo 2 so maybe that could be included? I like the DDR idea. Hmmmmmm let's see Soul caliber sounds good too...what about Fantasy Star? I haven't played that in a while.

Well, I'd play Halo 2, but I've seen so many Halo tournaments that it just gets old after a while. Kind of the stereotype tournament game. *shrug*
I'd be up for NCAA football 2005 as well.
DDR? That could be slightly unbalanced.

Phantasy Star is a old sega game thats roleplaying, how can you have a role playing game in a tournament?

Thats easy Carl. Just have a tournament and say, "Ok we're going to play Fantasy Star". BAM you have Fantasy Star in a tournament.

I can't believe ya'll (note the southern accent) would try considering a tournament without HALO!!! I'm appalled (or however it's spelt). heh, only kidding. Halo or Halo 2 is the ultimate multiplayer game. Maybe not for a tournament... but it kicks @$$. Especially when you get 16 people on a small map with nothing but rockets and unlimited grenades. Who wants a new interior pain job? And I only mean that in the sense of xbox only. There are poop loads of other multiplayer games for other platforms. And yes Phantasy Star is one of them. If you guys wanted to have a kick @$$ tournament start of with a free-play of Halo/Halo2 (meaning it doesn't matter if you win or lose) then have it divided into catagories of sports/racing, shooter, fighting and whatever else you could possibly think of. But some people aren't that good at sports games (yours truely).
I don't know sports games, so I wont sugest any...
fighting: soul calibur 2, mortal kombat (deception/deadly aliance), street fighter, marvel vs. capcom, capcom vs. snk, or dead or alive.
Shooter: Ghost Recon 2, maybe one of the Halos, any splinter cells w/ multi mode, and uh any war game with multi mode... take your pick...
but who's to say we can't play em all? And why should the platform matter (cuz I think I was only listing titles for xbox...  )? I say we should have all three. I got an xbox I would be more than willing to donate temporarily for the cause. Onless you guys are anti gamecube, which is cool, lame but cool... well, I was just sharing my thoughts on the whole thing... I may have said too much, but video games are my passion. So I get excited over little turnaments like this. I'd definately say this tournament thing would be a good idea. But it'd have to be on a friday or something so we could go all night kicking each other's @$$e$.
