This issue of Clarence’s Lagniappe Email List features information on the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras 2008 parades, schedule, and routes.

is open to the public. It will be held at 7pm at the Baton Rouge River Center (formally the Centroplex) in downtown Baton Rouge. www.spanishtownmardigras.com
Sat Feb 11??, 2008 at 2pm ?? - The Baton Rouge Krewe of Gus Young parade
is in North Baton Rouge. The third annual parade is at Winbourne Ave and Acadian Thruway. There is no website that I know of.

Sat Feb 18??, 2008 at noon - The Head of Island Krewe of Diversion boat parade
is in Head of Island (South of Baton Rouge). Parade route starts 1 mile east of Highway 16 Bridge on the Amite River and finishes at Hill Top Inn on Diversion Canal. There is no website that I know of.

is in Port Allen (across the river from Baton Rouge). There is no web site that I know of.
Sat Jan 26, 2008 at 3pm?? - The Krewe of Denham Springs parade
is in Denham Springs (which is just east of Baton Rouge). There is no website. The parade route starts at Denham Springs High School on North Range Avenue and works its way south to Veterans Boulevard.
Tue Feb ??, 2008 at 2pm - The Mystic Krewe of Donaldsonville Parade
is in Donaldsonville (South of Baton Rouge). Starts at Loop 945, travels down Clinic Drive, Evangeline Drive, Highway 308, Vatican Drive, St. Patrick Street, Williams Street, Church Street, Clay Street and ends at the Lemann Center. There is no web site that I know of.
Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 11am - The New Roads Annual Community Center Carnival Club Parade
is in New Roads (West of Baton Rouge). The parade is at La. 1 and False River. Theme is "Legends of Motown." More than 30 floats and half a dozen high stepping marching bands and drill units. www.newroadsmardigras.com
Tue Feb. 5, 2008 at 1:30pm - The New Roads Lions Carnival Parade
is in New Roads (West of Baton Rouge). The parade will cruise to the theme "Television Classics" with 30 lavish floats, 10 marching bands, and plenty of throws. www.newroadsmardigras.com
