I heard the other day that they are going to start making a Green Lantern movie and its by Kevin Smith. Thats right the creater of Jay and Silent Bob is gonna be in charge of writing the Green Lantern movie. I am very excited since the Green Lantern is one of my 3 favorite heros (Green Lantern, Spiderman, and the Silver Surfer) and he is the only one from DC. Just thought I would let people know.

Y'know, I'd never heard of the Green Lantern until recently...
I thought maybe they'd just made him up to be PC...or has he been around for a while?

The green lantern has been around since wwII but the only thing is the original is white and the new one on cartoon network is black

The movie isnt going with the cartoon one. In every cartoon the green lantern has been underpowered. I one of my comics i use to have of him, he used his ring to make 2 tommy guns and took out a whole dock filled with people making illegal drug imports... his thought bubble said "Heh, they only think they are dead"

Green Lantern has been around for a very long time.. almost as long as The Flash and Superman.
You can read the origin of Hal Jordan who was the most well known Green Lantern here: http://ksacomics.com/sc22/sc22.htm
Hal was the "Silver Age" Green Lantern.. within DC comics there was a "Golden Age" "Silver Age" and "Bronze / Modern" version of most characters... but that's another thread altogether.
