Very funny!!! ha
here's some of the email for those who already graduated!

I am writing to inform you of four changes to tuition & fees approved today by the LSU Board of Supervisors which will affect you this fall. The
changes result in a $156 per semester increase for full-time resident
students and a $906 per semester increase for full-time non-resident
students. The charges will be reflected on your PAWS fee bill posted online
in mid-July.

Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and
the LSU Board of Supervisors have authorized annual increases of
three percent for tuition to account for inflation

A new four percent operational fee was approved in the recent
legislative session in an effort to narrow a gap in state funding.

This surcharge to help cover the high cost of energy has been
increased by $1.50 per credit hour. The new charge will be $4 per
credit hour, not to exceed $48 per semester.
Non-Resident Fee
~ Full-time Non-Resident fees are increased by $750 per semester.
~ This change was set in motion by a 1997 state law mandating
that state institutions be aligned with the median tuition/fees at
comparable institutions in Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
states.

Yea, I wrote a nicely worded letter to LSU about how these raises are ridiculous and they need to improve thier ways of distributing financial aid and such for increases such as these. Fee Bills come out ina a wwek, and they want us to come up with the money for these tuition hikes HOW?? Do they think we have no other bills than tuition and books? Ahh they drive me nuts.

You are right!! That too is ridiculous! I just looked at my fee bill and we have a technology fee, operational fee and a utility surcharge - what the heck are all those for?!!!! We already pay enough to go there - even the books by themselves will put someone in debt@
