Does anybody else besides me notice the traffic jams on the south end of campus every morning and afternoon?

I mean, yeah, there are the usual slowdowns, but it has NEVER taken me 30-35 minutes to drive from my apartment to CEBA, and I live less than 2 miles from it! At least not until this week!

I blame it on the freshmen. Back in high school, when I was a senior, the freshmen class overcrowded the school...but they couldn't stop there, they had to overcrowd LSU too!

Even worse, I can't find a parking spot close to class...I can't even find a parking spot far away from class! I can't wait for the freshmen with red and green parking tags to be towed away.

Anyone else got a beef with the freshmen overcrowding campus?

Hey Mister,

I deserve some respect, I walk to all my classes, the only time I move my car is when I go out on the town...so not all freshman are bad, just the lazy ones!

What? It takes me 20 minutes to get from my camper trailer in Port Allen on Highway 90 to the Agriculture Center's parking lot, but I guess leaving at about 6:30 AM reduces the time drastically.

I am totally sorry man. I slowly drove in circles around campus for an hour trying to figure out where to park. So I am in part to blame for the traffic. I think me and the other people new to campus my get their shit straight in a week or two. I never did find a parking space, I finaly just parked under a small bridge-thing in the CEBA lot.

What the hell is the small bridge thing you're talking about in the CEBA lot?

By the way I live right across the street from Bogies in a complex formerly known as University View until Southgate Towers were built and now we can't see shit. After battling with the parking for a little bit my first semester I got smart and bought a bike and would rather risk getting hit anyday than dealing with the parking headaches at LSU much less the time it takes to get around campus on foot.

By the way, how do you use the quote function on this thing? Do you copy the text and then just click quote or what?

Thanks for the help Allison.

By the way, I saw that article about those desserts your mom made and they looked pretty awesome. There must be something about that quote that says the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

You're the problem. You live within walking distance of class and you're complaining about the people who don't. There are too many people who live 2-3 miles from campus so they can park .5-1.5 miles from class. If more people like you walked or took the bus, it wouldn't be much of an issue.

It's nice to know that everyone thinks they know the answer to my problem, when they don't even know me that well.

1. Did you ever think that some of us have physical issues when it comes to biking or walking a couple of miles? So I'm kinda limited.

2. The bus stop on my route is a good distance from my apartment. Plus, the bus rarely comes on time.

3. While this doesn't pertain to me particularly, some people have to get to work a couple of miles away, probably 10-15 minutes after their class ends. Do you think they can get there quick enough without a car?

Seems like there's a lot of freshmen bitching here. I can say I never saw this problem before this week. And the freshmen weren't here before. Therefore, it's the freshmen's fault.

ok, quick vote from anyone who's had a class in CEBA - how often is it possible to make it to your car from class in 10-15 minutes, much less get off campus & a couple miles to work in that same time limit? i didn't think so.

yeah, a full 33% of the respondents thus far have been freshmen - the rest of us are probably older than you

Don't know if I got counted in that freshmen group since I'm still a newbie, but I'm actually a jr., which means the percentage could be less than 33%. Just thought I'd throw that in there. I don't see what the big deal is. There are solutions to this problem such as scheduling classes before 9 am (imagine that) or riding the bus, walking, or using a bike. Everyone knows this isn't a new situation so why not be proactive.

P.S. If you decide to still drive your car, don't run me over while I'm either
a) walking
b) riding my bike
