As a former stockholder of Dell, Ive seen it go from $50 to <$20. Now it's roughly $30. Id stay away from Dell. Also, it depends on what your version of "undervalued" is. You have the PE ratio, the PB ratio, Gordon Growth Model, etc.

Right now, I love RAVN. Go look it up yourself! If you like risk, TASR (which really is a cool company).

Thats my personal, non-professional advice. DONT SUE ME!

1. What are penny stocks? Are they useful for making money or just a joke.

2. Did LSU figure in that 1K tuition increase for nonresidents in my financial aid via cost of attendance?

3. Where is the best place to eat in BR for $10, $8 and $6?

4. How much money do you think those guys on the exit ramp make a day? "I'm hungry and don't have a job!"

Don't Sue Us...heheheheh good one!

Penny stocks are stocks that have a value of less than $5. These companies can be very risky to get involved in. When you get spamvertisements about the latest stock tips are usually penny stocks. Avoid them unless you have some extra money you dont mind losing... or better yet give me the money.

Probably not.

At your apartment. It's much cheaper to go to the grocery store and cook your own meals since you dont have to add in the labor and other costs for the fast food place.

The real question is: Where did they get the money to buy the sign and the black marker? And why didnt they use that oney to buy food or the bus trip to the welfare office?

 Post subject: Credit Card Advice
Reply with quote Go to Top of PageScroll Up to Previous postScroll Down to Next postGo to last Post of Page

Many college students get trapped into credit card debt. The interest rate on these is very high, and just making minimum payments will take you many years to pay this off. So here's a good example of what can be done to help.

Say you have $400 after you pay your bills and before you pay off your credit cards. You have 4 credit cards with the following balances:

$1000 - $20 min/month
$750 - $25 min/month
$1500 - $25 min/month
$2000 - $30 min/month

What you do is pay the minimums, then put the excess cash toward the LOWEST balance credit card. Then once that's paid off, then go to the next lowest balance, and so forth and so on.

This is called debt snowballing. Once you have the excess cash, you just put more and more toward the balances. Soon enough, you'll be on your way to debt-free living Smile.

Should I even try to invest (with no real income) or just focus on working on my several thousand dollar credit card tabs? I don't see a return that would outweigh my current interest rates on the VISAs.

The student loan rates are much cheaper, would you recommend consolidation upon graduation?

As in finance, if you can borrow and get a higher return on an investment, you should do it. But I think that your credit card interest rates are higher than anything you can invest in with reasonable risk. I would recommend the debt snowball I mentioned above. Then start investing in small cap index funds like the Russell 2000.

As for the student loans, 3 things... one is that interest rates are very low now, and some companies even give lower rates if you consolidate within your grace period. Also though, you can only consolidate once. And if you consolidate, you have to start paying on them now.

I tell my parents they are "investing in tomorrow" when I hit them up for money (when it succeeds.) Is there any investment quite like a first-born son? Twisted Evil

Maybe sending the second-born son to rehab after he's been busted for manufacturing and posessing crystal meth.
