If you have a student ticket being used by a non student you must upgrade the ticket. Meaning, you upgrade the price to a non student ticket.
The price for a non student is $36. The student has already paid the $7 for the ticket. When you upgrade, you pay the difference of $29.
If I think you are referring to the Western Upper deck, you're pretty high up there. Don't know where section 3 is exactly located but you do get a full view of the field. If you are in the box seats under the upper deck, you are in shade, have fans over your head and you still get a full view of the field.

I thought West "box" seats were along the front level of the lower deck...anyway, at least those are on the home side of the field...
