Post subject: Can you become addicted on pills for headache? |

I started to take pills a week ago, and now if I skip one morning to take it, I have harsh headache and pressure in my head so I need to take it. Is here any doctor?

I've heard you can ... That's why I only take Aleve whenever it's a really bad headache.. Otherwise, I just deal with it.. I try not to take medicine when I'm sick for the same reason.. If i'm sick (especially a fever), it's for a reason.

Were they caffiene pills?

Right. Because if it's a flu, medicine doesn't rid the bacteria. It rids the symptoms, such as a high fever/body temperature. And the reason it's high is so that it can kill of bacteria. Therefore, even if your symptoms are gone, you're actually making it worse. Hence, I just suck it up and find that I get well quicker.

I put the box in the trash while I was in Croatia, so caffeine?! . But, I did not have a flu. I hit my head on the lavatory 10 days ago, and felt really sick for 2 days with strong headache. Than I took pills against the headache and pain and now I wake up every morning with strong headache. The pills are "Voltaren - rapid."

I don't know if this occurred to you, but if you fell and hit your head and then you felt sick and had a bad headache you could have gotten a concussion or something worse. It may not have anything to do with pills at all. I'm not a doctor or anything but I don't think you can get addicted to OTC pain pills such as Aleve but I'm sure that if you take them all the time they will eventually lose their effectiveness.

If it's been over 3 days since the headaches started, and they are still around, you should see a doctor.

It is 10 days.... many reasons could be, among them lots of watching on the computer screen, not enough sleep, school pressure...yes I am afraid to admit - injury from the hit. If it continues during next days I will visit the doctor.

Oh, I am fine now. Really. It is just pressure. I am not so proud not to go to see the doctor. I was always the first one who wants to check if it is something serious. If it was, I would probably be there 10 days ago. No worry!!!!!!
