Any of you remember the guys on here advertising a company called SM Computers? Well i went to high school w/ one of those guys, and I was in the market for a computer, so i decided to get a quote from them.
I read up a little bit on computers before i made a decision.
I decided that I wanted an Athlon XP processor because of their higher performance for playing games and stuff, but I also have used pentium before, so i asked for a quote with both
I called them and gave them my list of what I wanted which was:
Athlon XP 2500 processor or a pentium 2.5
512mb RAM
80 gigabite hard drive
a CD burner
a 17 inch monitor
mouse, keyboard
and speakers
and the Radean 9200 128mb Graphic card
When i got the quote back, i really was surprised. seriously. I think the total for all that was like $640 for the Athlon, and $725 for the pentium.
He told me the brands he used for Motherboards are Asuse and MSI. I went and read up on those brands and it seemed like they were the most reliable.
He told me he only uses brand name parts, and that the RAM i was getting was 400 megaherts speed.
I decided to go with the Athlon system. When i got the computer, the case and the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers were all black. The case looked pretty cool, with the black drives.
I opened up the case to look inside to make sure everything was what he said it was, and I saw the RAM had something metal on it. He told me it was a heatsink. My case had a cool lightup fan and the motherboard indeed was ASUS. He gave me the retail boxes for the motherboard and processor for the warranty.
He delivered everything to my apartment and set it up. I started up the computer and Windows XP started up very quickly (it came with the computer)
He told me to post this because he said everyone on here thinks he's a crook that's out to take people's money. But he's not! I got that whole computer for $640 and I looked elsewhere and most people wanted at least $800!
It's a good computer, so don't think he's a scam artist!

I don't recall anyone ever saying he was a crook... But taking peoples' money.. Well, considering this site is my business, and we SELL advertising.. If he gets a sale from an "advertisement" he didn't pay for.. I'd say he's taking MY money.. Wouldn't you?

I don't understand... do you put the eyes and nose on the snowman first or do you paste down the cotton balls first? And do you break apart the cotton balls or leave them balled up? When did arts and crafts time get so complicated?

I'm not an SM Computers person. I really did buy a computer from them, so stop acting like an asshole.
Also, it think it runs at about 2GHz. I don't know much about them. I did read that it outperformed the Pentium 2.5Ghz though.

yes, I do believe that the AXP2500+ does in fact outperform the pentium

yes an xp2500 does out run an intel 2.5. With intel u get the name but with amd you get the speed and the money in your wallet
