Well well, this article was just slightly one-sided. I'm graduating in December next year, and not because my hair will cooperate more (I realize that was a joke). Perhaps the article could have provided some real pros to graduating in December, though I can't think of any off the top of my head. This article makes graduating in December sound like a dumb idea, when to me at least, it makes no difference. I'm not going to go to school for an extra semester just so I can graduate with all my friends. Actually, I know more people that are graduating the same time as I am. It's not a matter of whether December or May is better.. you should only be concerned with finishing in a decent amount of time.

If I graduated in December, I would still wait till spring to walk. I don’t think hair style or gifts have much to do with it. Most people graduate in spring, and most companies (that are looking for recent grads) plan on hiring spring graduates. On the other hand if you are looking for a job in the summer and fall, as a December grad, you might get a leg up on people that will not be available till may to work.
The coolest scenario is if you do graduate in December, You have an offer and you don’t start work will May or June, you have time to see far away family, get married, or travel.
I don’t really see the authors point of gender-izing the issue. That is just stupid.

Well see, I'm studying to be a teacher. What I would hope to do is substitute teach at a school for the second-half of the school year. Then, I would be hired by that school in the fall. What will most likely happen is that I'll be put into the school system and whatever will happen will happen.

yeah, it seems like this story could have included some more "real" pros and cons. When I first read it, I thought it was just a funny little something or other, I didn't really take it seriously. But after reading the comments here, it seems that there was a lot of information that the writer could have included.
