Hey...so it's officially...I'm offically off work for mardi gras weekend. I'm still trying to get someone from sconsin to come down and hang with....but I need a little help.
I've never really done much in the 2 mardi gras years i've been down here. The way i'm looking at maps and stuff, seems like Lee Circle is the best place to go to see the parades. I'm gonna go down saturday, possibly sunday, and monday night/tuesday morning for sure. Anyone gonna be down there? Anyone have connections that can get a good spot to see parades? Anyone have a place down there I can crash? At most it would be two people, 2 wiiiiild and craaaaaazy guys.
can anyone help a brother out?

A nice place to watch the parades is on St. Charles street. That's where I go. That way you are not over run by small black children fighting for plastic beads. The only parade you can't see on St. Charles that you should see is Endymion.

I know that New Orleans claims to have the "Real" Mardi Gras but there are some cool parades here in Baton Rouge.. well one. Spanish Town.

I dont like parades. well i dont like going to them in nola but damit i love me some bourbon street during mardi gras. Me and my friends from h/s use to go ever year on the monday before. All those fuckers are married now so there wives dont let them go.

i agree that the spanish town parade is a decent parade, and pretty damn funny too, but it doesn't hold a candle to the saturday parades in nola....i mean christ....tucks has a parade centered around toliets! I reallly wish the spanish town parade was on sunday....and since it's my friends first mardi gras, i doubt he'll want a t shirt saying I spent mardi gras in Baton Rouge.....Nola is the place to be...

Dude for real if you want a good Mardi Gras experience just go to Mamou, LA. It's way out of the way and it is a small town but for Saturday and Sunday Mardi Gras fun it can't be beat.
