Well, if I may interrupt for a minute the current debates on TigerU about just how evil Americans are right now (see the "Iraq Elections Not Legit" thread, the chatroom, etc.), I'd just like to say that at least we are wiling to work very hard to support such a "bad" country and way of life... Exclamation

Americans are not lazy, but other nations are also not lazy. Their productivity cannot be higher because of lack of modern technology and overall economic situations...many factors in fact. My friend in Croatia, 23yrs old, woman, works from 6AM - 6PM, physical job, and she is paid $300, not $3000. It means for basic food. Of course that she lives with parents and cannot be independent as Americans can, and she is NOT LAZY at all! Unemployment is 22 percent...there are people who wants to work, but they do not have opportunity. Each of u have that, and at least u are paid enough to have own cars, apartments, and still save something. Students in Croatia cannot afford it, and many people who finished their BS. Be happy that u are born in the U.S. and thanks God every day!

That would be correct about Croatia, but look at Japan. It's the lowest ont he list and they have access to at least the same technology that we have, if not better. I guess this throws a kink in the theory that Asians are harder workers than the average bear.

I did not say that people in other countries are lazy. As for your comments about technology, etc., this does not explain how other countries on the diagram (such as Canada, Germany, the U.K., or Japan)were so much lower in productivity.

Yeah, it's funny how these "oppressive" free enterprised-styled economies that the Green Party guy keeps complaining about tend to have far better worker production than countries where the government interferes and (attempts to) control everything and everyone. No communist countries made this list. Canada, Germany, the U.K., and Japan have socialist economic systems and did not do very well on the chart. Now, France did well, but they have only been socialist for a relatively short period of time (mainly since the 1980s). Ireland, which has only recently enacted free market reforms to its once-socialist system, has been booming economically since then and seen worker production skyrocket. Yeah, we need the Green Party to save our country from all of this... Shocked
