I just noticed this thread. Glad you liked the computer (although this thread has deviated from that topic)
MJS and I have decided to shut down SM Computers for a while, because we need to focus on schoolwork, especially me.
We have been selling tons of them on ebay, and it's just a lot to do AND study all at the same time.
I will, however, continue to post flyers around campus. Mostly in lockett and Coates. I've given up on posting in the Union, because no matter how well i follow their posting guidelines, it still gets removed after 2 days.
I hardly get any business from LSU students, so I didn't think it would hurt to still keep the offer available to students/faculty/staff.
Perhaps one day an LSU student will have enough money to buy one.
Sometimes i get a little creativity urge, and make up some new system to market.
about a month ago, I built a new computer for myself to take to Gaming parties and use in my living room.
It's a Micro-sized PC with a Radeon video card that connects to your TV via S-video or analog. These are great for people without a lot of room.

wow, this is a very long thread. Most of it is just the usual things i would expect from TigerU chatters, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, except for the people who seem to think I steal Windows and sell it for profit. I hope you all realize that I didn't give "NotComingBack" a special discount. The same prices apply to everyone.
by the way, the website is no longer being updated, and is pretty much out of date because i've lowered prices.
THEREFORE, I HAVE NO REASON to ADVERTISE it anymore.

Is this implying that you steal Windows but you don't sell it for a profit? If Windows is installed on the computer you sell, and it wasn't paid for, then that is what you are doing. Not buying Windows saves you about 100.00, which means it is easier to sell the computer.
I'm not bashing you or anything, because the price he gave for that system is VERY good, with or without Windows. Stealing Windows for personal use is one thing, but selling a pirated/cracked/whatever copy with a computer is another. Be careful, especially if you are selling it preloaded on ebay. Microsoft goons are on ebay all the time looking for stuff like that. A Microsoft operative may even be one of your "customers" one day. Don't put it past them.

That is so awsome.
Yeah, I guess if people are going to make a big deal about it, then they can get NO operating system.
Or, I'll just do it the Computer Evolutions way.

I don't think it's a big deal if I make a copy of some pirated software for my own use. It is a big deal if I make copies of it and then use it to make money. It's an even bigger deal if you sell it on ebay and it crosses state lines. Interstate commerce with stolen goods has the potential to be disastrous.
It's not a big deal, unless you get caught. Guess that could be said about a lot of things.

totally true. I would either give customer the option to buy the full version or not have any OS. They are big people too and they can pirate their own software.

I would rather not sell a computer than sell one with pirated windows. Just don't mention anything about the OS and people will ASSuMe. But you can point to the auction and people will have no defense because it doesn't say anything about an OS.

Yeah, but I don't plan to do the ebay thing for a long time. I'm still getting e-mails.
My suggests that i sell my Micro-comp since i'm getting a laptop.
I am tempted to do so. However, the graphics card in the laptop i'm getting is equivalent to the graphics in my big computer.
It's a Radeon IGP 320M video card. Comp Ev said it was equivalent to a 32mb Radeon card, such as the Radeon 7000.
I know that my big computer was able to handle unreal, and Return to castle wolf.
But, I am not sure that it can handle wolf ET, or that strategy game (it seems to have fairly high graphics).
I'll have to try it out before i sell micro-PC. a laptop would be way more convenient. Then again, i may just keep both.
