Well, summer’s almost here! It’s time to turn up the air conditioners and head off to the theatre to see the latest summer blockbusters that Hollywood has to offer. So grab some popcorn and turn off your brain, because summer movies are always the most fun you’ll have at the theatre all year!

In May 1977, the first summer blockbuster was released with George Lucas’ Star Wars. Here we are, 28 years later and Lucas is at it again. May 19 brings Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Sith will complete the tale of Anakin Skywalker’s journey to the dark side and his transformation into Darth Vader. This looks to be a fantastic movie.

Following Star Wars won’t be an easy task, but on May 27, two comedies open that are looking to be the summer’s next hit. First off, Adam Sandler stars in the remake of The Longest Yard. Sandler plays a convict that must lead a group of inmates against the guards in a football game. With a supporting cast that includes Chris Rock and Burt Reynolds (star of the original), Longest Yard is sure to be a contender.
