Ok people the end is nigh or something like that. It's got to be. Look around, we've got terrorism and and wars and all sorts of senseless violence everywhere. The are child sex abuse cases involved in churches of all places all the time and now there's evidently one involving children and ANIMALS right there in Tangipahoa Parish. We've got fucking tsunamis killing a couple hundred thousand people in a matter of minutes. We have incurable diseases everywhere and new ones popping up everyday. I saved the kicker for last, this is the one thing that has convinced me that the world is coming to an end. There is a fucking hurricane in the Pacific and it has moved east into the Caribbean. When's the last time you ever heard of a hurricane moving east in the northern hemisphere. You've never heard of that because it doesn't happen. I'm telling it's about to come a plague of locusts and rain molten sulphur or some shit. The world IS coming to an end. btw for all of you who know me no I haven't been drinking today but i think i am about to start.

Maybe THAT'S why the ACLU doesn't want prayer in school in Tang. Parish.
(Parent) And what did you learn in class today, Jimmy?
(Kid) I'll show you. Come here, Fluffy!

lol@JLW
I feel violated to if i had to have sex with something that looked like those bitches. I like to drink and I'll do some fucked up shit with enough alcohol in me but I don't think I'd ever never never ever ever eeeeeeeeeeveeerrrrr do something like that. Damn people whats this world coming to. What is up with a church group worshipping satan? Isn't that counter-productive? I mean would the two acts cancel each other out? Guess they wanted to keep their options open. I wonder when PETA is gonna weigh in on this. It listed a dog as a victim. Picture this: They're in court and the dog is on the witness stand.
Prosecutor: ...and is the person who raped you in this courtroom right now?
Dog: rawf rawf (runs to the defendants table and starts humping his leg.)

Why wouldn't a hurricane move east in the northern hemisphere?

Cold currents, hurricanes love warm air and humidity and the less of that there is the less likelyhood of there being a hurricane, It gets colder the more Morthern you go, and the warm current ends by FL.
Actually end of the woprld, a meteor is supposed to hit us in the next 30 years, NASA is already thinking of ways to combat it.

It probably depends on the Walker circulation cycle (aka El Nino or La Nina) as to where the hurricanes may steer. The cycle may be stronger than normal, steering hurricanes towards the East in the Pacific.

Yes, agree with the general conditions you describe bellow but this does not show why they shouldn't move east.
You should be aware of the fact that hurricanes are in fact big air cyclons and that some of their steering depends on the rotation direction. At the same time some particularities depends on the type of ground they meet (hills, mountains, flat terrain etc.). You should be also aware of the Coriolis force...
Thus I don't see why they couldn't move east... LSU does some numerical models with hurricans and the physics of them is much more complicated.
At the same time there were some projects that proposed to drop a bomb in the eye of the hurricane... the explosion would disturbe the rotation and would transform the hurricane in a big storm. However the chances of success of such a project depend on our understanding of the hurricanes.
for the meteorit... don't believe all the stories. There are stones out there but this doesn't mean one would hit us tomorrow. Chances are though that in the future we will be hit by opne of them. It happened in the past and it will happen again.
JPL-Jet Propulsion Laboratory maintains NEO (near earth objects) program that deals with asteroids. The main problem is that usually when some program detects a meteorite heading for Earth this has some intrinsec error in it. In other words that person wouldn;'t be able to tell you from one measurement if the meteorite will 100% hit Earth or not. This is why at the beginning the mass media (they are crazy about this stuff... they want to create shock stories...) publishes that a meteorite would hit us. However all of you should look with great care at these news and rather use NASA website for NEO program than newspapers or radio stations. After an initial detection, the scientists take more measurements over a several month period. This increases the accuracy (remember we can't do 100% accurate measurements) and usually the meteorit's trajectory would end up NOT hitting the Earth. These data are integrated into a numerical model of the Solar Systems that contains high accuracy models based on Newton's laws and predicts (from the data) whether or not we will be a target for that specific meteorit. Thus the problem is not that of a having or not a model but of having or not the precise initial data. If you have fluctuations/errors in the initial data then this would translate into fluctuations/errors in the trajectory and instead of getting a line you would get an "area" where the meteorite is possible to be at various moments of time.
It is actually quite difficult to hit the earth with a meteorit given the immense distances in the Solar System and the emptyness of the cosmic "regions".
