When I checked my PAWS email not long ago, I was shocked to find the fee I pay for my parking tag was going up. I知 sure a lot of students were. This decision was prompted by the Parking Task Force, an assemblage of representatives from various departments of the University. A lot of research apparently went into this. Walker Parking Consultants did a survey. There was an online survey of 8,000 students and there were some public forums.

We池e supposed to see a lot of returns from this fee increase. Potholes will be filled and other damages repaired in many of the lots. A parking garage is supposed to be built. And we値l probably see some new lots paved somewhere on campus.

But, I still find myself a little miffed about the fee increase. I think a lot of student commuters are. And the reason we feel upset is that despite the fact we will be paying more money, we値l still be a low and mistreated priority in the grand scheme.
