I'm not gonna overly spam the site with this.. Maybe a couple times in the live chat... and this post.
We recently discovered one of our dogs suffers* from patellar luxations (basically her knee comes out of socket easily.. the longer it goes, the more easily it'll come out.. until it's just permanently out.. after that point it develops into arthritis)
The surgery is something along the lines of $800.. Which.. is a lot of damned money .. Vet says the surgery should be done by the end of the year..

Once again, I'm not being "over the top" with asking for help here. So, if you have a negative response to this, I ask that you not be "over the top" with it, and just ignore this thread, and not be a jackass and donate $0.01 knowing full well that none of it makes it to me.

I wish I could help you chris, I know how it is. We are broke as hell though. Maybe you should make a website totally devoted to that cause. You would be shocked at how many would donate.
You could also post an ad in the paper asking for help through donations and adding a link to your web address.
These are rough ideas because I am at work. If you need any help let me know. I hope you get enough raised for the surgery.

That's tough... I'd help out if I could... but alas, the money is extremely tight right now. I feel for ya though, i'd be doing the same thing if it were my dog! Good luck on getting the surgery!
