well, i dont blame AWE and BK for having some ads on the site....they have busted their ass off keeping thie site up and running, they deserve to get a lil bit of compensation.
I agree that there should be more fun things, i think people got bored with bowling and kareoke. We should get together and play volleyball one night, or find some other fun stuff to do, any suggestions?

the banner ads are nuts. It only shows the need to get a few bucks from random adds is more important than having a real site.
basicly tigerU is now google-bait-bullshit-spam.

People the banners aren't that bad. At least you don't have friggin' popups aggravating you everytime you log on. Can't blame someone for trying to recoup some of the money they are spending to provide these sites.

well as a noob, i think it's pretty cool here.. but agree that there are a bit too many forums on the main page. but i only really look at the ones on top, since i'm not a student and not in a frat, etc.
the ads are a bit annoying, but i personally hate spammish advertisements.. I NEVER UNDERSTAND THE REASONINGS OF FREAKING SPAM! i've never bought anything from some "ad".. i guess if people get rich because i accidentally clicked one well, i guess i can't blame them.. hell this is capitalist america lol. but like it was said previously, simplicity is better than clutter, and even when i'm on high speed connections, this site loads awfully slow.. and i'm very impatient  but i try 
i think some more cultural/interest related forums would be better than just frat/sorority/nationality stuff. i find interest in people of different origins but i would feel rather sheepish posting in a chinese forum, for example. i dunno, just a thought.
i run a forum also and i find that it's hard to channel an ideal to a random user base. as in life, you have assholes everywhere. but people who are assholes should be just as targeted lyrically than those that are usually the butt of jokes. being a constant jerk (on forums) does get annoying and old, unproductive.
i'm down with a music forum or something..

I am all for the international/cultural interest forums, thats a good idea! And about Spam, it appears that we started to get spammers when we started wanting to get yahoo search engire results, ad's, etc... It's correalation but maybe not a causation, however, I believe that it isn't a coincidence that you get spammers in forums the same time Tigeru.com gets huge search engine results, I think one caused the other, but its all speculation on my part.

A lot of the spammers found us by searching for things like "m**e m*ney f*ru*ms" (minus the stars of course) ... I keep track of how spammers find us and get rid of the problem.. and you have to admit, the amount of spam we get now as opposed to 1-2 months ago is significantly lower.

I suppose I'll chime in since I am one of the lost sheep so to speak. The main reason I stopped coming around was all the petty drama. Admittedly, it was funny for a while and entertaining in the way that a train wreck can grab your attention for a bit, but once you realize the ghastly truth of it you can’t bear to look anymore. I think the purple and gold is really nice and LONG overdue. I don’t see any banner ads, maybe they are gone or maybe I haven’t poked around enough to find em. But as long as they are not completely obnoxious I don’t have a problem with it. These guys have put and I’m sure continue to put a lot of time and effort into this project for little or no return. I am not speaking only in monetary regard. The grief that they catch is hardly worth the few compliments that they receive. I really liked this site and I’m going to give it another try because I really did like some of the people here. i.e. Carl, Royce, Alex, Ian, Sarah, Brandon, Brandon, Jason, Richard, Landon, seamonkey, etc… (Sorry, it’s been a while and I don’t remember all the names of people that I chatted with.) Anyway, that’s my far removed input. I haven’t been around lately to really comment on current issues. I like playing football with the folks around here and pool at Ricochets was nice. I never made it bowling, but I’d love to kick Landon’s ass sometime. I guess I’ll be seeing y’all around a but more.
