Way to back up your claim.

BTW, what was "liberal" back then is not "liberal" now. Heck, you can't even say that it was in the first half of the century. Compare the positions of the Democratic Party then to their positions today. It is a total reversal.

"Liberal" is just a word meaning ideas that promote change. So, were the founders "liberal." Of course they were. They wanted to change the government from an unrepresentative monarchy to a representative republic. This was revolutionary back then! Does saying they are "liberal" mean that are in favor of "universal healthcare" or abortion or any of the other worthless issues liberals fight for today? Heck no!

Now that democracy is the norm, "liberal" ideas are to stray away from that (to change the norm). Ever since Karl Marx, liberalism has now become a shift to socialism. Converatism (or ideas resisting change) as now become "originalism" or preserving the government established by our founding fathers.

So you are not asking the right question. Don't ask whether the founding fathers were "liberal." Because "liberal" is relative to time period and location. A better question to ask is "Which political party's philosophy do you think the founding fathers would most relate to today?"

i know what liberal means, thanks.

and where did i say liberal = democrat. you seem to have a warped sense of "other people's realities."

any "conservative" is an enemy of america, straight up. you think the founding fathers were more conservative than liberal? lol, you should recheck your american history. i got two words for you, protestant religion.

it's not a claim btw, it's the fact of the matter. you should learn to accept it. "conservatives" always think they own eveyrthing, just ask that falwell fella. lol.

uh, yeah it's just another stinky opinion. do you think i have to go around pointing out flaws in other people's opinions? if i did that, i wouldn't get nothing else done in life.

you aspire to be conservative because you want to be a rich greed monster, you don't really care about america. you care about yourself only. conservatives are self centered people. they want to impose thier beliefs on other people as a law of the land.. this is exactly the same type of oppressive thinking that caused the settlers (uh, founding establishments) to come to america in the first place.

maybe canada will in fact, one day, be the next "america."

Mindphuck, before you post on this thread again, please perform the following steps:

1. Stop watching cable news (Fox or CNN)
2. Read the U.S. Constitution
3. Read the Federalist Papers (if you don't know what that is, a simple Google search should help)
4. Read a book written by someone other than Al Franken or Michael Moore (perhaps maybe one written by someone who has some expertise. Being the liberal that you are, I will recommend Noam Chomsky)
5. Repeat.

You also might want to find out what conservatives actually believe.

And BTW, you sure hold a lot of stereotypical opinions on conservatives for such an open minded liberal. So do you always stick to stereotypes, or do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter?

i'm far from brainwashed, but thanks for more "stereotypical" thinking.

conservative = hypocrite. you can't even argue "logic" without resorting to calling people "dumbass" Rolling Eyes

i'm not here to argue with 12 yr olds.

We can never live up to your skills. Because you referring to my previous post as a "stinky opinion" is the height of intellectual debate. Also, you seem to have formed numerous well thought out arguments on this post. No, wait, I'm thinking of someone else.

Seriously, you're what, 14 or 15 years old at the most?

But, apparently you do have the time to bash others for their opinions...

Also, Mindphuck, I would like you to enlighten me on what "American" views are. And what authority deems a particular view as "American" over the opposite viewpoint?

haha, wow that's clever! Laughing

speaking of "socialism" you think it's so wrong to support lower class americans with taxpayer dollars, but it's ok to funnel billions to other countries for their agendas. we can't have a national health care system in this country, but we can go and spread "democracy" around the world, and nation build, and pay israel money at whim.

but god forbid we should try to help the homeless get back on their feet. and i'll be damned if my tax dollars should pay for single mothers on welfare. that would just be, an outrage!

like i said, if you call yourself "conservative" and agree with this current war, and/or agree that gay marriage should not be "legal," you are an intolerant bigot, and very unamerican in my book.
