I used the term "wigger" in a standup set last night, and some of my black friends were offended. I see their point to be that "wigger" comes from the word "n_____," and the use of the former only represents a longing to freely use the latter.
I, who may be narrow-minded, see this as a bad point.
Ok, I can't say the word "n_____." That's a word. But if I can say neither that nor "wigger," that's a list. I don't think anyone is entitled to a list of things that other people can't say.

if the prevailing rationale is that only black people can use that N word and they may use it indiscriminately...just like Mr. Garrison was the only one in Southpark who could say "fag" and get away with it...
by that logic, not only can white people use the W word, but black people can neither utter it nor be offended by a white person's use of it
if A is allowed to override B's use of the word particular to A's own identity, i feel it should equally apply both ways, whether we're talking race, sex, whatever

enzfyr, this clearly is a different situation because people paid to hear these words. If I'm walking down the street singing to myself (but able to be heard) "n----- n----- n-----," I am allowed to do that, and everyone is required to tolerate it. If I say that to an audience that is approximately 50% black, I am a fool to be angry when half the audience gets up to leave (even if the flyer says "no rules"). The audience is the customer, and the customer is always right. If they don't want me saying "wigger," maybe I shouldn't say it.
It must be noted that the only people who professed to be offended were two comedians and not paying audience members.
Oh, JLW, if you ever allow C-Mac onstage at a Red Stick Comedy event, I will profess at an uncomfortable volume and for an uncomfortable amount of time how much of a pussy you are.

Absolutely. He was a sudden no-show at an open-mic and he heckled at a headliner show. That's garbage. This is the kind of situation where you have to choose between being liked and being respected, and you can't have both. If you put up with C-Mac at this point, you're sending a clear message as far as what you'll permit from the comics.

If your question is to imply "He did nothing to you so get off his ass," he didn't pay to see a show I was in, and he heckled one of the comics. And I was hosting when he suddenly no-showed, meaning I looked like a jack-ass onstage for reasons other than my comedy.
C-Mac sucks, but I gotta hand it to him: his name is really unique. His actual name is something like "Charles MacDougal," and he took the first letter of his first name--"C"--and the first syllable of his last name--"Mac"--and split the two with a hyphen. I've never seen a black person do this before, and it is simply genius.
