I don't exactly know what "dug up the rant" means but if it is what I assume to be then you are probably wrong and interpreted my message in a wrong way.

First of all the topic was NOT closed so anybody (member of the forum) was allowed to post his/her observations or opinions at ANY given time: be it last year, this year or 2000 years in the future!

Second of all I did NOT (and I hope my English is understood WELL now) dug up any rant... I just noticed that YES there are some customers that DO NOT KNOW how to buy an ice-cream and this way situations like Brigid mentioned can occur! It is unfortunate that these situations occur but as long as there are people that did not evolve from the stone-age life level you will always encounter this type of situations!

Third of all I felt the need to write my opinion that a human being cannot and ought NOT be considered as a vending machine: no matter what the human being sells, buys or does for the living he/she should never be considered a vending machine. And these are not empty words since I gave an example... the vending machine does not smile (this and other things should not allow anyone to consider a human being as being a vending machine!) ! This was sort of a reply, expressing my opinion, to another message where somebody considered more useful to replace human beings with vending machines.

This was the essence of my message, note, observation or whatever you want to call it.

Clear enough?

Soyuz

OMFG! It's hard to believe any of that actually happened, but I can picture all of it. I'm sorry, that was the funniest shit I ever read. This should be under jokes and funny stories instead of free speech. Laughing

Try this: When a customer is polite, nice, cooperative, etc., hows about being a little generous (within reason) with the ice cream.

I'm always polite and considerate. I don't point. I clearly state what I want starting with "May I have a ...", and I hand money over, giving the exact amount if I have it. Yet in my one (and only) visit to Baskin Robbins at State and Highland I got this super-microscopic scoop of ice cream for my $2.50 (or whatever). It was actually so small that it rattled around in the cup. So now I go elsewhere for ice cream.

I don't expect extra ice cream just for being nice, but I do expect more for my money than what I got in that visit.

If you want the nice people to come back, make an extra swipe with the scoop.

Kid's scoops should weigh 2.5oz and Regular Scoops should weigh 4oz. If you bought something like a sundae, banana split, float, etc., kid's scoops are used in that. (another word for kid's scoop is fountain scoop).

At the Baskin Robbins I worked at, the manager of that location gave what was called a "scooping bonus". This means that if waste was less than 1% for the month, we'd receive $40-50. He was true to his word for a while, until business was slow and he was going through his own financial problems (Then he just pretended we didn't earn it for that month)

So, don't expect anything more than the icecream you deserve, especially if the employee has an incentive to care about portion sizes. However, with that being said, you should expect what you paid for. If you think you were shorted, tell them to put that scoop on their scale.

Cold Stone sucks. They sell mediocre ice cream at outrageous prices, and their customers sit at our tables and leave their shit for us to clean up, cause cold stone won't put a trashcan outside. I hope some guy gives their owner a purnuple nurple so hard, he gets breast cancer and dies. The faggot.
