Aside from having no power, i think we are doing alright. I didn't stay in the dorms during the actual hurricane so i'm not sure how that went, i did however return last night and everything is how i left it. Besides having no power it seems that cell phones aren't working that great. I have t-mobile and i'm having a very hard time sending and receiving calls. but eh, yeah all seems fine. No class til the 6th from what i hear.

trees are all over the place in some places, but that is getting cleaned up fast. power came back for me really quick (4 hours). others not so fast. some roofs were messed up.
traffic is really bad around campus. people from out of town and people here do not know what to do so they are driving all around.

At my hotel, we have been out of power since 7am monday morning. We have power to about 1/5 of the hotel, and no air conditioning....the place smells like ballsack....and it's partly my fault.
some people can be so god damn ignorant. It's not my fault we dont have power, and if I knew how to get it back on, i'd do that. And no....we don't have any fucking rooms available.
i wouldnt know whats going on with the rest of town, because i've been stuck at the hotel 16 hours a day since friday.
People from NOLA will be stuck here at least a week or two.

Power is still out at my house in Forest Hill (off of Essen) I might go take some photos of the Trees and such.. my camera is crappy but they might illustrate to the outside world a snippet of what kinda damage is caused in just the outlying area that gets hit by a hurricane.
I hope everyone from New Orleans who evacuated are doing ok and whoever stayed I hope they're able to get you out.
For all of those shooting at rescue workers - You will be dealt with accordingly.
By the way, Cox just came back up here near Perkins/Siegen. I don't know if everyone has cable back now or if it's in segments.
