Post subject: Animal Volunteer/Donation Question |
  |
|
Does anyone know of a good place to go volunteer/donate money for pets who were affected by the hurricane. More than anything, the situation with people losing thier pets is breaking my heart, i can't even begin to imagine how horrifying it would be to have to leave my animals. If you have any information for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

if you're in the BR area, they're sheltering animals at the LSU Ag Center/Parker Coliseum - there's also a large shelter in Gonzales at the Lamar-Dixon center
If you are wanting to donate time, supplies or money, please call LSU Vet School 225-773-3612 or 225-578-9663.
The State Veterinarian’s Office in the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Fisheries has a toll-free number and an e-mail address for people who want information about animal recovery and evacuation efforts and those who want to make donations to aid in these efforts to help our “four-legged” refugees. Please call 888-773-6489 or e-mail Katrina@ldaf.louisiana.gov . Thank you so much for your support.
