This past monday i got an Entergy electric bill for $504.47 I think this is absolutely outrageous. Is anyone else on Entergy? Is your bill higher than it should be?

$50-fucking-4?! I'd call them about it ... have a meter reader come out and make sure they read your meter correctly ... My electric bill for a 2-story, 2-bedroom duplex with a shitload of badly sealed windows, and no insulation in the walls was only $250..

Yeah that's abnormally high. My fiancee was here with me in Houston, left the AC between 72 and 75, lots of lights on, and my bill was $175. Of course, I can switch my power provider at any time... yall cant.

I have complained and complained . I have had my apt. maintenance come out and service everything electricsal in here that is theirs. I have asked entergy to check to make sure my meter is not faulty and that they have reasd the correct meter and read it correctly. All I ever get is basically "well it is what it is". I think I am going to hook the air conditioning unit to my truck and drive away. I have asked them to replace it several times. Maybe I can do the same with the electric meter.

Ours was abnormally high these last few months too... last month about $300. I haven't called to check it out, i figured it was us as we like it cold at night, but it seems way too high. We have a lot of crappy sealed windows and doors in here. We tried to caulk the windows but apparently that didn't work... damn Entergy. I suppose i should call and get it checked out. dammit.

take the your current bill, find an old bill.
Look at the rates.
Then divide the final cost by the number of hours you used.
If that number has changed from 9 to 12 then that accounts for some difference.

My bill was like 297. I think it is outrageous, but i did have about 10 people staying in my small two bedroom apartment for a few weeks.
