so, has anyone else seen the people protesting the tailgators use of the purple and gold rebel flag?
SHUT UP!!!!!
I can see if the flag was wrapped around your fucking necks, but it's a flag, get over it.
I'm not too proud of the US flag and what it represents, but i'm not going to skip class to bitch and moan about it.
I find mullets, and bling bling annoying, but I deal with it as a fact of life.
shut up already.

Is that b&w pic from the old Pink Panther movies?
Black people should just get over it. They're allowed to have their black power crap and say that whites should be exterminated and all their other heritage crap. The confederate flag is heritage and not a symbol of hate. Most slaves were treated nicely. Most slaves didnt want to leave when they were told they had to. There were black slave owners. There were white slaves.
Remember: It's only free speech when others agree.

It is offensive to them so why keep waving it in their faces? If you really want to wave a purple and gold flag, just get an LSU purple and gold flag, not the confederate flag. It's not that hard to get one of those. On the other hand, I don't think agree w/ one of the signs a protester had "LSU does not respect black people" it's pretty clear to me that isn't true. But I guess it was a way to get the attention of the media to get their message through.

Let's never show the American flag again. It shows oppression of the indians when we took their land. It shows how we went to armed struggle against Germany, Italy, Japan, Iraq, Korea, Vietnam. It's a symbol of how American's just get richer and richer and have all the wealth in the world.
Americans are the real oppressors! Ban the American flag!

In reading the Reveille, I was brought to an interesting point. It's ironic that people are flying the Confederate flag, slightly altered to their tiger liking, when the majority of the football team is black. People flying this flag makes their own team uncomfortable. You would think they would stop, but no.
I understand there is a freedom of speech but you don't see me throwing racial remarks out there and hatin' on people. I have something called RESPECT. It won't be banned, but if people would mature and have some RESPECT for those who don't appreciate it, then the flag would not fly.
I also understand people's take on tradition. If it was such an important tradition, don't you think it would be flown in TigerStadium?? If it was such a tradition, no one would have trouble with it..but there is a problem and I think that flag should go down.

A realist would say that we need to ban some sects of Christianity (Catholicism for example) because they gave Native Americans a choice: join us or die. Now wouldn't that offend Native Americans? I know a few that don't really care anymore.. they have lost their ways. So should we ban the Christian cross since it is a symbol of the decay of Native American culture? How about ham since Jews find it unholy? It's all a bunch of shit and people just need to shut the fuck up sometimes and worry about the now and the future instead of the then. It's not progress to dwell upon shit in the past.

What comes to mind when you see a swastika? (AKA the "Nazi Symbol")
In fact, the swastika symbol has thousands of years of history as a symbol of life, sun, power, strength, and good luck. It even predates the Egyptian Ankh.
Now because of the Nazi party, it is a symbol of evil and is not welcomed anywhere really.
Why isn't the Christian cross a symbol of evil now? Why is it still a symbol of good? How many more people have died in the name of Jesus than have died in the name of the Nazi party?
With the way things are going in this nation to appease to one group and piss off another group, I would have no doubts that there will be another civil war and a decay of government forcing marshal law. People would be robots and properties of the states under the mind control of the central government. A mechanical society where people are just numbers. It's already happening today. People punch-in at work.. punch-out.. Then it could be punch-in to life.. punch-out.. Everyone is equal, everyone is the same, everyone is a robot. There's no difference between a black robot and a white robot. They are both gray in the paperwork.
I don't know.. I got nothin..

Good research Josh. Im enjoying reading the page on the flag.
The cross used to be a symbol of punishment. It was the most gruesome and most painful punishment the Romans or anyone had. Now it's used as jewelry.
