What does John Brady need to do to keep his job next year? I am of the belief that he needs to make it to at least the Sweet 16 if Bass comes back or at least to the 2nd round of the NCAA's without Bass. If he fails on that, than I believe he should be fired and bring in a Mike Nolan(UAB) or some other quality coach.

Your suggestion is pretty good, but i say sweet sixteen, with Bass or not. LSU doesn't fuck around when it comes to sports. Deliver or get the fuck out of dodge.

Brady's here for at least two more years. These "what does Brady have to do this year?" threads are pretty much moot because all he has to do is show up for work. We haven't the $$$ for a coaching search right now.

Brady is here at least until the PMAC is renovated.

Keep on his boys and tell them not to be stupid and give up things like not boxing out down the stretch.

And Bass is one of the newest Hornets and has been since summer so no luck there. I think Bass probably should've stayed at LSU for another year, but he's looking at the NBA and all that money so I don't blame him so much.

I really despise how nobody here can see past winning. That's all LSU cares about, which is very sad. Who really cares about how many games a team wins in a year? Nobody ever grows up and sees beyond that.

I'd like to note that for the past two years John Brady has had very young teams with a majority of the players being freshmen. Also, I know that he scheduled this season with the thought that Brandon Bass and Tac Minor were going to be able to play, but in the end only turned out to be a very young team. All of the new scholarship players are freshmen this year. Nobody understands that the team will mature as the years go by, and I think John Brady will be the perfect coach to show them how to do that.

Also, does anybody remember the success he's had in the past? Nobody cares. He has brought LSU to the NCAA numerous times, but nobody every appreciates that. All I see is selfishness from those who only care about winning. The LSU basketball team loves him as their coach, and those on the team such as Glen Davis and Garrett Temple have grown up with him.

I'd like to see any one of you people to step in his position and constantly be critized by the public if one game is lost. John Brady will not be fired now because he has two years left on his contract and he will plan to retire soon. Enough is enough. Somebody had to say something. I guess you could I've been with him a few times and know him on a personal level. I admire his work and how he handles all of your selfishness and criticism. I think he is one of the best coaches we've had and it saddens me to know that nobody is there to back him up.

It's not so much to complain about, winning after all is the quintessential mark at which success is measured.. And that's what we do, we win. At LSU I think the community recognizes that we are the flagship school in the state our NCAA events take part in the SEC which is probably the toughest all around conference in Division IA. Who really cares about how many games a team wins in a year? There are a lot of programs in the nation who would like to record more wins.

Keep in mind this was probably posted sometime in late November, i'm not looking right off but obviously it's before this season has heated up.

It's not that amazing to see a bigger school get into the NCAA's, UAB did it last year. They were the ones that beat us, in the first round. Maybe we get to the NCAA's a lot but it doesn't seem like we go particularly far. Yeah I'm tired of being second best to Kentucky and Florida in this conference all the time but at the same time Brady seems to be doing consistently better every year by a small margin. I'm pretty optimistic about this season behind freshman Tyrus Thomas that guy's a beast.

And while Brady's not doing such a bad job, he's clearly no Dale Brown. He could've drawn up something a little more careful strategy wise last night during the final (LSU) seven second possession of the UCONN game last night that would've been a hell of an upset. I think we'll do better in the tournament this year, but that's two heartbreaking losses already this season; first against Houston and now at Connecticut.

My main complaint is that under Brady's coaching staff, Tiger basketball seems to blow it down the stretch or make more dumb mistakes than under past coaches.

Welcome to the world of college sports. How do you think Les Miles felt after people wanted his head for losing to Tennessee?!? LSU fans are the worst in the NCAA... they expect near perfection and bitch when they dont get it.

John Brady came to LSU with the expectation of having a high caliber team. They are looking for a coach that resembled Dale Brown. If they expect a team that goes to the NCAA tournament each year and don't get it, then LSU has the right to look for someone who can deliver.

One thing though: I dont appreciate his remarks regarding Starkville. He may think it's a redneck town, but that town gave him a job. So he needs to STFU and appreciate what Starkville and Mississippi State gave him.

Here's some BULLSHIT: SEC Schools CAN'T STORM THE COURT AFTER AN UPSET!!! Tennessee athletics charged $5,000 because the students ran onto the court after they beat #2 Florida (so we are now undefeated)

I went to the Tigers vs Bama game at the P Mac on Saturday and they looked pretty good. In addition to a 68-57 victory over the Tide, I had a pretty fun time looking at all the new pictures and stuff inside the assembly center that big tiger decal graphic over the windows is badass. I also got to see Mike's new habitat for the first time so that was cool.

I think they are going to go relatively far in the tournament before coming up short. I didn't think we'd be 4-0 toward the end of January. I can't believe Tennessee upset Florida too, that was huge for us. Tyrus Thomas is still outta control, and he's only a freshman! I hope he doesn't go to the NBA early.

Here's where we're at in the conference (awesome)

Kentucky's nowhere near the top this year (awesome)

EAST
3-1/17-1 (2) Florida gators
3-1/12-3 Tennessee volunteers
3-2/12-4 Vanderbilt commodores
2-2/12-6 Kentucky wildcats
2-3/12-6 Georgia bulldogs
1-4/10-8 South Carolina gamecocks

WEST
4-0/12-5 Louisiana State tigers
3-1/13-4 Mississippi rebels
3-2/10-7 Alabama crimson tide
2-3/13-5 Arkansas razorbacks
1-4/11-7 Mississippi State bulldogs
0-4/8-7 Auburn tigers
