What's happening to Christmas?
For some unknown reason aithiests are winning the battle to remove Christ from Christmas! Instead of Merry Christmas it's being watered down to Happy holidays or holiday sale. Some how Christmas offends the none believers?!?!?! WTF!?! Whatr about the Christmas movies and christmas specieals and christmas songs!?!? Are they going to be censured? Instead of Merry Christmas you hear Merry <Beep>! Jesus Christ will be <Beep> <Beep>. Instead of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" it will be "A Charlie Brown December Holiday".
Here's a good article: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/dannywestneat/2002668964_danny07.html
We can't let the athiests win to take GOD out of God and Country!
We need more people who believe in God and Jesus to compain and raise their voice or the athiests are going to keep winning these battles!

Many Christian organizations are boycotting stores that use Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. It'll be a sad day when we no longer have Christmas but "Winter Holiday" on December 25th.

“Christians who desire to buy Christmas gifts and Christmastime are a loveless bunch of bigots who have an impoverished understanding of their own religion."
Once the faithful were appalled to have Christmas commercialized and pushed on them by retail. Now they are insisting on it! What Hypocrites.
Catholic League and American Family Association (AFA) have allowed themselves to be swayed by subversive agents of large retail chains.
The Wal-Mart thing was started this year by interaction with a temporary new hire Customer Service employee who was obviously subversive and not acting inline with policy.
When you say are boycotting, no. the catholic league has resolved its difference with Walmart, but has brought up the fact that Christian organizations have decided to flip flop on how they want the holidays recognized. And Bill O’Reily has been egging the nation on suggesting that retail is trying to take Christmas away from them, the reality is that retailers are trying to attract customers. Retailers do whatever they think will please the customers most. The problem is that the AFA just 5 years ago protested Christmas being advertised in the secular realm, this year they insist on it.

I love the people that are pissed off at bushy for putting "happy holidays" on the christmas card....because, yeah, lest we forget that it was only the christians who voted for him. I keep forgetting that no blacks or jews voted for him, not ONE.
I think the uppidity christians who are pissed off need to find something else to "fix" you know, like spongebob or the teletubbies...
GET A FUCKING LIFE!!!!!!!! the bible mentioned NOTHING about christmas.

^ "right you are, ken." (mxc rules)
People aren't going to say Merry Winter Holiday that sounds stupid. People are still going to say Christmas wheter or not it's legal to.. Which shouldnt be an issue. And if people really are complaining in mass numbers about taking the word "Christmas" out of some things, then it just goes to show how insecure of a nation we are that we can't just get along and celebrate the HOLIDAYS without having to find something to bitch about.

It's all funny because the historical Christ wasn't even born on the 25th of December. The early church decided to make December 25th Jesus' birthday to replace a pagan Roman holiday.

according to one article that I saw, a study determined that 96%(!) of Americans, including some non-Christians here, celebrate Christmas. Why is 4% dictating against what the other 96% want to practice? The article that I mentioned above also noted that the White House's Christmas cards have not used the word "Christmas" since Bill Clinton had the cards changed during his first Christmas in office. Our current president really needs to reinstate use of the word.
The worst thing is that this problem that you note has already gone way, way beyond just removing Christ from "X-mas"--Jesus was removed long ago. But starting about 10 years ago Santa Claus, a FICTIONAL character, came under attack, for still being too relative to the holiday. That's getting outright ridiculous. In fact, about 2 years ago, I heard that some places were going even farther by removing references to Frosty the Snowman, despite NO biblical links to him whatsoever. I mean, at least the Santa Claus character is loosely based on St. Nicholas, so there is a SLIGHT Christian link there. But just because Frosty is only mentioned around Christmas time, some groups are now removing him as well. Is there ANYTHING left about Christmas now in America left to strip away?
And yeah, Happy Chanukkah, Christmas, Eid Mubarak, Kawanzaa, Las Posadas, New Year, Ramadan, or Winter Solstice!

What news were you watching, I saw the same report on cable news and it said that W Bush was the first president to not have "Christmas" on his cards but "Happy Holidays". And some conservative Christian man was all uppity on the street and hollering "I thought he was one of us uh huh.. huh"
Don't automatically assume we're all not Christian, my values are very similar to Christian principles and ideas but I don't find myself in church all the time..

I think the people that have the biggest problem with Santa, frosty, the Easter bunny… are Jehovah’s Witnesses or fundamentalists. They are “technically” Christian. And they often are the most out spoken about their views.
So now you can see something that many young people choose to ignore in this nation. Christian group jerkoffs who take the beliefs of other Christian groups and tell people that the believes are against Christianity. Christians are the quickest to belittle the nuances of the beliefs of other Christians!
