LSU should allow students to opt out of Broadcast emails. Granted Broadcast emails are great for important purposes, such as Mikey getting out of his cage and eating his way through the quad, however I think LSU should categorize the emails and allow students to opt out of particular categories or all of them.
Agree?

No. They do not need to. LSU gives you every thing you need in the PAWS mail client to filter your mail. You can filter the Broadcast mails out very simply.

I'm quite aware of the mail filtering abilities of PAWS, but that's not exactly where I'm going with this. LSU should simply categorize their Broadcasts to particular subjects such as Important, Greek, Department Specific, etc and allow you to opt out of particular categories.
I personally don't use the PAWS mail client, and I have a feeling that the majority of students don't even know what a mail filter is. LSU should make the entire process simple and clear.

It is at the schools discretion to email us. I like this system more than having stuff forwarded from every list to every other list, a lot less duplications. I don’t mind getting the random invitation to see something on the same list as reminder that the entrance to a common building has changed.
It is strange the importance of some broad cast mails vs. others I agree.
How Microsoft software demos and Edible art invitations are on the same list as we would like to thank SEC for donating $400,000 to our Hurricane Student Relief Fund.
Additionally I don’t see any of my broadcast mails that are specifically Greek or department specific in range. (not saying it has never happened)
The mails seem to be in three groups:
Campus wide events / invitations / Tickets
Internet offerings / scheduling / Paws change
Building / Logistics Changes
