Is live there back to normal? Is the city double-populated now since Katrina? What's the music scene like? My band plays kind of a classic style of hard rock. I would like to continue with that kind of music if I head your way, but for all I know there's nothing but jazz and country bars there. That's nothing against jazz.

They have rock venues here.. the Caterie comes to mind.
I think we have about a net 150,000 more people.

right on Did rent go up citywide, or is it about the same? If you check out any new bands, give Dark New Day a listen. They're tight, edgy rock.

That's nothing against jazz. | We got downed limbs and fences around here and not much more than that but of course a lot of people leaving N.O. setup here so I think theres very roughly 50-60,000 new citizens from south of here. So there's lots more traffic now. I read in a local publication, "225" I think it was a pretty good article that describes the music scene. It says that the River Center (our other than LSU arena type venue) isn't the ideal mainstay for a lot of tour stops from the bigger acts. There are the good concerts, like Tool, a 311 show I went to but it doesn't serve to concerts like say the Pyramid does for Memphis. A lot of concerts are centered around the north gates and bands play for these real crowded bars. Caterie off of Perkins is a nice one as mentioned and there's a lot of good stuff going on with development and refurbishing downtown. There's supposed to be some kind of riverfront project they're throwing around ideas like possibly building a brick concept music or performance stage which can be cool.. I love this city, tons of stuff to do so welcome to it

Rent did go up because of the supply and demand. I'm not sure by how much. It's difficult to get a place. It's probably easier now.
People didn't have trouble getting their asking price for property that was for sale after the storm.
The other day someone told me that their relative accepted a purchase agreement within 24 hours of their property being listed.
