Thanks for such a warm welcome into LSU, and im not even in the country yet! I hope everyone is as cool as the people on this site. I hope its ok if i can ask some questions from time to time about American life, I know a bit about america through some friends I have in LA but some stuff still confuses me.
I mean, fraternities - ur paying to have friends? And something about hitting each other on the ass with a paddle
Do footballers really get better grades just for being footballers or were Screech, Zach and A.C slater lying to me for years?
WHY OH WHY do you not include the TAX on the product you want to purchase?! that has got to be THE most annoying thing i have ever seen. That means you walk into a store and dont really know how much everything is and your shopping could come to five dollars more?!
And Lastly ( for now ) How come people over there cant throw a party without having to make T-shirts? (oh , and bumper stickers)
As you can see, my questions are all important, academic related ones. lol. Speak 2 you all soon,
Take Care
Matt

Sounds like Zaruco has only heard about fraternity parties. I have been to and thrown lots of parties and I don't have a T-shirt from nare damn one of 'em. As far as bumper stickers go I have way too nice a truck to go putting lame ass stickers all over it.

Welcome to Tigeru. To answer some of your questions....lol. Not to sure about the fraternity thing; never really got into the whole greek thing. (Although I would be in a Sorority). Football players do not get good grades just because they are athletes. They do have tutors and are required to go to study hall. The tax thing I hate too and can't explain that. And finally the bumpersticker and T-shirt thing at parties. I have been to pleanty that didn't have that. It's mainly the greeks that do that. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. You'll have to come to one of our parties.
Oh yeah, I totally agree with Brigid and Andrea....lol.

LOL. My dad worked in London for 5 months and we stayed with him in Richmond for 1 of those months. It was in the middle of a huge heat stroke and we had packed expected it to be chilly, but it felt almost hotter than it does here.
I absolutely LOVED it there.
Welcome to Tigeru!

I don't get it either.. I think at one point, TigerU's slogan was "get your friends for free" and/or "the free alternative to the greek system"

Heh.. saved by the bell.. great show... I don't think it's because they're football players.. But I do think they get easier classes because they play football...

I don't get that either.. I usually just add 10% to whatever I have ... (in baton rouge, sales tax is 9% ... where I live, it's 8.75%)

ehh, that's just the greeks that make t-shirts for all their parties..
... welcome to TigerU, btw.
