Today, someone quote CBS news in a response to a question I had. I went to the CBS site. Look at this headline:
"The day the world learned about the Iraqi prison abuse scandal, says Andy Rooney, belongs high on the list of worst things that have ever happened to the United States."

I don't think that event would place even in the top 100 hundred of such a list. Maybe not even in the top 1000.

I don't either Meanpc. I think the months leading up to Sept. 11, 2001 is one of the worst periods in the history of this country. Personally even in the photos I have seen of this alleged 'abuse' it isn't like anyone was getting their head cut off, no one was burned and hung from a bridge.

Bush had 9 months in office. The only information that his administration had at the time, was that Osama was planning something with planes at some time. Im not in the CIA but i could have made a prediction like that.
Clinton was in charge for the 8 years before that. What did he do? He let terrorists bomb the world trade center. He let terrorists bomb the USS Cole. He let terrorists bomb our embassy in Kenya. The Saudis offered him Osama, but Clinton refused. His administration made the rules that tied the hands of the justice department and didnt allow certain agencies to share certain information, which could have led to averting the 911 attack.

why is it that they requested air time for every other speech however not this one????? it's because they didn't want it because they are not being FAIR & BALANCED...they only want you to see what goes with THEIR AGENDA

Carl reread her statement. What it is saying is that Bush didn't request air time. Why would the networks have to request airtme they own the airtime. DUH!!!

For every anti Bush piece of evidence you find, there is pro Bush evidence that refutes it. The truth is somewhere in the middle.
The fact of the matter is when got attacked on Bush's watch, and he went in and kicked ass. When got attacked on Clinton's watch, he went back to banging fat interns like nothing happened. With response like that its no wonder the attacks got bigger and bolder....

After the WTC got bombed in '93 the Clinton justice dept. apprehended and convicted those responsible. After the attacks on our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania he fired a missile attack on Al Quaeda bases and an Iraqi pharmaceutical plant which was manufacturing chemicals for nerve gas. After the USS Cole was attacked in Yemen in October of 2000 Clinton ordered a plan be drawn up outlining specifically how to attack Al Quaeda. This plan was drawn up and finished only shortly before Bush's inauguration. Instead of starting a war only days before he left office Clinton trusted Bush's people to pick up the plan and take it forward. Richard Clarke one of the main designers of this plan was held over by Bush and he has testified that although he tried desperately to get them to listen to him about this plan no one was interested.
