Don’t be that guy. We have all heard this phrase before. It happens when someone commits an action – or actions – that they probably shouldn’t have. Oh, you want a few examples: that guy who goes to see a band…wearing the band’s shirt (apologies to the film PCU for stealing this analogy). How about the girl who wears the same frat shirt during every class?

The Republican Party, in my opinion, can be easily labeled as “that guy” for one specific reason: their reluctance to address serious environmental problems that face our nation and world.

Every year, according the Environmental Protection Agency, each person in the United States emits over six tons of greenhouse gases – more emission per person than any other nation. These emissions could have severe effects.

We have all heard the doomsday scenario of the rising sea levels affected by the change in global temperature. Something for Louisiana residents to consider is that rising regional temperatures could have detrimental effects on crop yields and water supplies.
