Hey Folks,
I don't know about you, but I don't want my summer being just me working at CC's and a possible tennis game every month. I have decided to go camping, and looking to see who would like to come along. I need to make the reservations soon, and I don't care who or how many. You know you who you are that are definately welcome.
http://www.phwd.net/parks/little%20black%20creek/default.asp
That is the link, if you click the small text that says cabins, and then scroll down until you see the one that is 110 dollars a night, thats the baby I'm hoping for. Click on the slide show button to see the pictures.
The place is called Little Black Creek, and its just in Mississippi. I don't have enough money to go on anything elaborate, and this isn't exactly rustic camping. I would love to go tent camping instead, but I know not everyone has tents, plus the cabins come with a kitchen and bathrooms. There is a pond around the cabins for some light fishing, and a there is a place to go hiking not to far away. Plus the water area is sectioned off for swimming with slides and stuff. Also, there is areas for launching boats and stuff.
If you don't like the great outdoors, this is a perfect place to go, cause it isn't exactly like you have to try to survive on your own. Plus, if you love camping like me, its just enough to satifsy your nature needs if you go looking for it.
Let me know, cause Im going to go ahead and make the reservations. I'm planning it for the weekend of July 16,17,18. If we have more than enough ppl, great, just bring air mattresses and enough food.
Also, if you say you going to go...stay commited. If you don't know, tell me so and I won't bug you about it. I'm pretty sure we can afford 220 dollars for two nights in a nice cabin on a lake split several ways.
Let me know,
Erin[/list]

i'd be interested...... i love camping. if you haven't yet booked reservations, though, there's this place i used to go every now and then in Mississippi called Bogue Chitto Water Park. They have the primitive campgrounds as well as cabins, and the cabins are only $45/night on the weekends, if i remember correctly. I love it there. There's an outdoor grill and picnic bench, usually bunk beds and a larger bed, a sink, toilet, and shower. just didn't know if you'd be interested in something more reasonably priced.

I'd be up for anything if you know where the place is at. I know the cabin I said looks expensive, but it is more like a house than a cabin. I just want everyone to be comfortable. If it is an MS, Im sure it isn't much different than Little Black Creek. They all share the same outlet of water. But..yea, if you wanna call or get together and set up some reservations I'd be up for it. Lift some of the planning weight off my shoulders.

I forgot to mention that Bogue Chitto Water Park has also recently built several new cabins, and these are more along the lines of a house, also (albeit a rustic house). I don't know how much they cost, though. I'd say the best thing is to find out how many people are going and let that determine how much to spend on the cabin. If there are only 3 o 4 people, perhaps it would be better to go cheaper. Either way doesn't really matter to me, I'm just making suggestions.

We were planning a trip on the weekend of July 16,17,18....and well I would like to not spend so much money, so I decided I wanted to go camping that weekend. I also took that weekend off in advanced. Plus, the weekend would be better for those M-F ppl, and gives us enough time to save up. Thats why I want to do the camping thing, cause it is way cheaper than a hotel. So far we have a good amount of ppl saying they want to go, the more the merrier, and the cheaper it will be.

um, looks like we might have to go tent camping. I called both places and the cabins are booked for all the weekends until september. Give me some ideas guys of places you might want to go, Little Black Creek for tent campin is really nice, its not like you are in the remote woods. You're even facing the street coming in. Idk...this is your trip too. You help me plan it, I'll do the calling. If not...maybe someplace in Florida? I don't know how much the condos run, but just give me suggestions.

I've camped at Percy Quinn State Park many times when I was a boy scout. They have good camping and are not that far away. Not to mention that it is around a lake and they have a pool. I looked on their website and they have cabins if any are still available plus lots of tent camping areas.
Here is the link to their website.

It happens to be on the Mississippi State Parks website so you can look up other camping there too.

Oh, I also know that Clarkco is a fairly good park to camp in. I have family near there so I have camped in that area. They have canoes you can rent and take on the lake, fishing, etc. It just south of Meridian MS.
Here is the link for that one:

I know a condo on the beach with a pool in Pensacola that can sleep 10 people and we can get it for AUgust 13, 14, and 15 (weekend before school starts. It would be 42.25 a person if we can get 10 people, and that is for both nights. I would rather that than camping, and everyone has a bed (granted you may have to sleep with someone).

Well, seeing as I'm working all summer, and I live on a campground (literally) I think I'm going to pass on the camping trip. Good luck in finding a place to go.
