One of our new members Zaruco (Matt) who is coming to LSU from England wants to know if anyone knows anyone on the LSU soccer team.
If you do please post whatever info you have on here.

He was specifically interested in the mens soccer team btw.. and for whatever reason I know the mens teams is a club.. not an LSU sanctioned sport.
Damien - would you be interested in helping to Moderate the sports forums? It could literally be "Tiger Talk with Damien Foley"

Hey Alex... I didn't know anyone read my rubbish! The only feedback I've ever had is when I pissed some guy off with a throwaway comment I made about Phil Mickelson after The Masters... what would you want me to do with the forums?
And the men's club is pretty good if I remember - I don't know who's in charge of it, but as far as club teams go it's a good one

Probably has something to do with the regulations regarding men and women's sports. Seems like I heard someone talking about how it affects soccer, at one point or another.

yeah - title ix basically means that if the mens soccer team wants to become ncaa sanctioned, then another mens team would have to be dropped to keep the numbers the same (title ix states that the number of athletic scholarships available to men and women must be equal)... lsu has been talking about dropping the mens swimming and diving team for some time now, or alternatively adding either a womens equestrian or rowing team to balance it out - its just going to come down to budget... although the swim team hired a new head coach recently, i dont think theyre going to be in any rush to drop the mens dive program - id say the addition of a womens equestrian team would come first, we have a good riding club already in place at lsu.

I need someone(s) to "Prime the pump" on the TigerU sports forums...
We just created a forum on here for every sport at LSU (that I know of) and whoever were to take the helm and get people interested in talking about sports on the site will surely be rewarded with fame and stuff.
So anyone reading this who likes to discuss sports and wants to have the responsibility/power of moderating a section of our message board, let me know.

Is it wrong that i didn't even know LSU had a soccer team?

We're giving the men's team some publicity here.. maybe I should email them with a link to this thread so they can fill in all the gaps

Yes there is a LSU women's team, and it's a shame you didn't know they are a fun group of girls. They have been going in and out of good and bad seasons. They lost some great players so this season will be interesting, but their coach is a real piece
