By AMY DUNNMany Louisianans are accustomed to the heat that accompanies summertime, but many may not realize that our bodies are not able to adjust to the heat as easily.
The heat can seriously affect outdoor exercise because our body takes longer to cool when faced with heat. When you workout, your body increases in temperature because of the muscle activity, and sweat is what your body produces to cool your body back down. This process can be slowed when outside heat elements are present, because your body cannot cool as quickly.
