The controversy is not with Moore telling the story… but how Moore tells the story.
Let me take you back to the year 2002, to a little “documentary” called Bowling for Columbine. This travesty of a film actually won Best Documentary at the Academy Awards. This poses many questions because it’s not a documentary at all.
During the film, Moore implies that Charlton Heston, president of the National Rifle Association, held a massive pro-gun rally in Denver directly following the tragic shootings at Columbine. This action, of course, would be distasteful of the organization.
