By Ben RelleESPN’s College Game Day is a phenomenon sweeping campuses across the nation. This weekend it stopped right here at LSU and I decided to have the full Game Day experience.
Learning from last season’s appearance of the show at the Georgia game, my friends and I agreed to pull an all-nighter on the parade grounds in hopes of having our faces seen by a nationwide audience Saturday morning.
Preparations began Thursday night when a friend of mine spotted a sofa bed laying on the side of a certain apartment complex on Brightside. We decided to take it with us to have a place to sleep and sit while waiting for the show. It may have been extremely dirty, but nothing a few sets of sheets can’t fix. Right?
Friday rolled around with much anticipation on our part. Fall Fest was kicking in the quad and excitement was in the air for the first game. My friend parked his truck out by the parade grounds early that morning, so we had somewhere to keep extra clothes, drinks, chairs, and of course our newly acquired sofa bed. The plans hit a small speed bump when Mother Nature decided to open up the heavens on LSU. Our beautiful sofa bed was soaked.
