By Brennan DavidThe No. 15 LSU Tigers will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Alabama Crimson Tide at 6:45 in Tiger Stadium matching two of the nation’s best defenses on ESPN. The game features two teams that have endured almost identical seasons with LSU at 3-2 in conference and Alabama at 3-3.
“I think we had a good bye week and had the opportunity to allow several players to heal up,” said head coach Nick Saban. “I kind of sent the message that it is time to turn up the jets when they come back this week and have a sense of urgency and immediacy. We hope and I expect them to come back chomping at the bits.”
The Tigers currently sport an eight game winning streak in Death Valley, which is the longest for the Tigers since the 2001-02 season when they won eight straight before falling to Alabama. In fact, the Tigers lead in every SEC West series except against Alabama who holds a strangling 43-19-5 record against LSU.
